PrintOur labor force is underemployed; our infrastructure is outmoded; our economy is probably in recession. The easy political act of sending checks to taxpayers to buy products made in China will do little to stimulate our economy.
The solution that must now be implemented is government financing of public works projects that will both start to satisfy our infrastructure needs and provide jobs. These jobs will be here in America and will, consequently, compound the benefit. It is time for a new Franklin Roosevelt-style new deal.
