Texas A&M sweeps MU softball team

The Missouri softball team lost 9-4 to Texas A&M on Sunday in College Station, Texas, giving the No. 7 Aggies (34-6) a sweep of the weekend series.

Senior designated hitter Jen Bruck provided most of the offense for the Tigers (31-9), hitting a two-run home run in the first inning and a solo-run home run in the third. The Tigers started off the game with three consecutive hits, but got only one more hit the rest of the way.

Sophomore pitcher Jana Hainey fell to 10-2 after being credited with the loss. Hainey came in for Stacy Delaney and pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up five runs on six hits while striking out five.

Missouri will play Drake in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Wednesday at University Field.
