Good night, moon

Madison Smith, 7, accompanied by her dad, Kyle, looks through the MU Law Observatory telescope at the lunar eclipse on Wednesday. Madison's 9-year-old brother Tyler joined the group. Smith said the kids were pretty interested in this kind of stuff, and he tries to promote it as much as he can.

A total lunar eclipse begins as the final rays of the sun are nearly blocked by the Earth as seen from Seattle on Wednesday. The next total lunar eclipse will be in 2010. Also appearing in the night sky were by Saturn and the bright star Regulus on either side of the veiled full moon.
