COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge girls basketball team will try to do what all good teams do: forget about a tough loss.

“We’ve put the loss behind us,” Rock Bridge coach Jill Nagel said. “We’ve moved on, and we are refocused and ready to take on Boonville.” Coming off a difficult 44-37 loss to rival Hickman on Wednesday, the No. 6 Bruins (13-5) will look to rebound when they go on the road to face the Boonville Pirates (10-5) at 6 p.m. on Friday.

“I think we need to just come out and focus on ourselves and get back to the basics,” Nagel said.

The road is nothing new to the Bruins, who started the season with seven consecutive road games and did not play their first home contest until Dec. 13.

Experience is important when playing on the road, and the Bruins have no shortage in that department. Seniors Claire Schaeperkoetter, M.E. Kanago, Andrea Seabaugh and Kelia Hardin lead the Bruins.

When the two teams faced off last season, the Bruins easily handled the Pirates, winning 64-36. Rock Bridge has won seven of its past 10 games, while Boonville is ona four-game losing streak.
