James Robert ‘Bobby’ Black
James Robert “Bobby” Black of Columbia died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Candlelight Lodge. He was 78.
Mr. Black was born on Jan. 20, 1930, in Montgomery County to Robert and Frances (Cunningham) Black. He graduated from Montgomery City High School. He married Anna Renn.
Mr. Black was self-employed and owned his own delivery service.
Mr. Black is survived by one daughter, Lisa Black-Schwandt of Osage Beach; one son, Michael Black of Denver; three stepchildren, Tracy Prenger of Wardsville, Jeane Herfurth of Osage Beach and Bobby F. Lane Jr. of Atlanta; one sister, Laura Adams of Minneapolis; one granddaughter, Lauren Louise Schwandt of Osage Beach; four stepgrandchildren, Taylor and Tatum Prenger and Abbey and Grace Herfurth; and one niece.
His wife; two brothers, Joseph and George Black; and one sister, Ann Burton, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 9:30. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Montgomery City.
