William O. Burr
COLUMBIA — William O. Burr of Columbia died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Truman Veterans Hospital. He was 75.
He was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Vaughn, N.M., to Joel B. and Josephine C. Burr. He was named an All-Star Graduate of Vaughn High School in 1952 and served on the USS Shields in the Korean War.
He married Helen E. Poe of Columbia on Dec. 7, 1953.
Mr. Burr is survived by his wife; two daughters, Teresa Sutton and Billie Hussey, both of Boone County; three sons, Mark, Thomas and Matthew Burr, also of Boone County; one brother, Joel Burr Jr.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In his later years, Mr. Burr enjoyed having his children live close to him and visit.
