Charles M. Carter
Columbia — Charles M. Carter of Columbia died Tuesday, July 15, 2008. He was 67.
He was born May 21, 1941, in Bucklin to Perrin and Etta Willoughby Carter. He married Clara Barnes of Columbia on April 24, 1971.
Mr. Carter worked for MU for 26 years. He enjoyed drawing, woodworking and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Charles R. Carter of Mississippi and Bruce Carter of Clark; one daughter, Janice Carter of Lebanon; one sister, Bernedene Sleeth of New Boston; two brothers, Jack Carter of Kissee Mills and Vern Burkholder of Purdin; and five grandchildren.
His parents, stepfather Moses Burkholder and one brother, Bob Carter, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home at 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens at 104 S. Collier St., Centralia.
