Archie Ray Pugh
COLUMBIA — Archie Ray Pugh died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Ashland Healthcare. He was 85.
Mr. Pugh was born May 29, 1923, in Boone County to Hazard and Cora (Stover) Pugh. He married Della Nichols on Dec. 31, 1964, in Columbia. Mr. Pugh was a self-employed painter and he served in the U.S. Army.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home, 601 N. Henry Clay Blvd, in Ashland. Services, conducted by the Rev. Elder Wallace Johnson, will immediately follow. Burial will be after the services in New Salem Cemetery, 2721 S. U.S. 63.
Mr. Pugh is survived by his wife; three sons, Archie Pugh Jr. of Texas, Tommy Brent of French Lick, Ind., and stepson Paul L. Rybolt of Columbia; one daughter, Debbie Meloy of Springfield, Ore.; one sister, Dorothy Eubanks of Columbia; fifteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, one sister, one stepdaughter and two stepgrandchildren died earlier.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
