Daniel Jacobs
Daniel Jacobs of Columbia died Thursday, July 10, 2008. He was 68.
He was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Litchfield, Ill., to William and Virgie Daniel Jacobs.
He worked as a dockman for Toastmaster and served in the Navy. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing.
He married Alice Crump on April 9, 1962. She died earlier.
Mr. Jacobs is survived by one step-son, Curtis Phillips of Chillicothe; two step-daughters, Charlene Sapp and Gloria Haight of Hartsburg; two brothers, Darrell Jacobs of Illinois and Thomas Jacobs of Oregon; five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home, 601 N. Henry Clay Blvd. in Ashland.
Services, conducted by the Rev. Mike Quinn, will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery.
